Abstract

This paper reviewed and discussed how electronic health and mobile health technologies can and have transformed healthcare communication and delivery in Nigeria. It highlighted the role of e-health in enabling remote consultations, drone delivery of medical supplies in remote areas, electronic health records and health information systems. It also emphasized how m-health facilitates health services through mobile devices, including health apps, SMS reminders and real-time health monitoring. The paper discussed benefits in improving access to healthcare services, particularly in underserved areas, and how government initiatives and collaborations with mobile network providers support implementation. Challenges of e-health and m-health communication in Nigeria were discussed and ways forward included better synergy between government and mobile service providers and improved electric power supply.
